Emotional intelligence and stress academic in the students of ninth and tenth nurses’ cycle at the Norbert Wiener University, Lima - 2023

Abstract

Objective: Determinate the relationship between Emotional Intelligence with Academic stress in nursing Students of the Ninth and Tenth cycle The Norbert Wiener University, Lima-2023. Methodology: The methodology is based on a hypothetic-deductive study, approaching quantitative, applicated type, not experimental, cross-correctional, and transversal being the data collection of 151 nursing students where two instruments were surveyed, such as the "Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMM-24)” and SISCO at Academic stress. Results: According to the results, it was obtained that 27.2% presented adequate emotional intelligence for moderate stress, 24.5% of moderate range for moderate stress, and 0.7% of inadequate range for moderate stress. Conclusions: It was determined that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and academic stress, through statistical significance (p=0.002); in turn, a low positive correlation was found (rho=0.190) in the students of the Ninth and Tenth nursing cycles of the Norbert Wiener University.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre Inteligencia emocional y Estrés Académico en los estudiantes del Noveno y Décimo ciclos de Enfermería de la Universidad Norbert Wiener, Lima-2023.Metodología: En cuanto la metodología se desarrolló, un estudio hipotético deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada, no experimental, de alcance descriptivo correlacional y transversal; con una muestra de 151 estudiantes, donde se aplicó los instrumentos “Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMM-24)”, que mide la variable Inteligencia emocional y el “Inventario SISCO”, que mide el estrés académico. Resultados: Se obtuvo que el 27.2% presento una inteligencia emocional adecuada para un estrés moderado, el 24.5% de rango moderado para un estrés moderado y el 0.7% de rango inadecuado para un estrés moderado. Conclusiones: Se determino que existe una relación entre la Inteligencia emocional y estrés académico, a través de una significancia estadística(p=0.002); a su vez se encontró una correlación positiva baja(rho=0.190) en los estudiantes del Noveno y Décimo ciclos de enfermería de la Universidad Norbert Wiener.
