Knowledge and attitudes of mothers regarding the prevention of iron deficiency anemia in children under five years of age

Abstract

To carry out this research, the general objective was "to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitude towards the prevention of iron deficiency anemia in mothers of children under 5 years of age in a health center in the Lima fence, 2022"; for which the hypothetical deductive method was used, with a quantitative approach, applied type and non-experimental design. In the case of the population of 84 mothers of infants under five years of age, while the sample consisted of 70 mothers of infants under five years of age. Among the main results, a significance was verified with a value of p equal to 0.000, with a coefficient of 0.862, which allows us to conclude that there is a statistically significant reliability between the knowledge and the attitude towards the prevention of Iron deficiency anemia in mothers of children under 5 years of age at the Cercado de Lima health center, 2022.

Objetivo: Para la realización de la presente investigación se tuvo como objetivo general “determinar la relación entre los conocimientos y la actitud frente a la prevención de anemia ferropénica en madres de niños menores de 5 años en un centro de salud del cercado de Lima, 2022”; para lo cual se empleó el método hipotético-deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada y diseño no experimental. En el caso de la población de 84 madres de lactantes menores de cinco años, mientras que la muestra estuvo conformada por 70 madres de lactantes menores de cinco años. Dentro de los principales resultados se logró verifica una significancia con un valor de p igual a 0.000, con un coeficiente de 0.862, lo que permite llegar a la conclusión de que existe una correlación estadísticamente significativa entre los conocimientos y la actitud ante la prevención de anemia ferropénica en madres de niños menores de 5 años en el centro de salud del cercado de Lima, 2022
