The relationship between social support and adherence to antiretroviral treatment in patients with HIV in a Health Center in the year 2023

Abstract

Introduction: Millions of people have died as a result of the human immunodeficiency virus in recent decades, where the only treatment is the use of antiretrovirals, which improves the lifestyle of life of the patient, but in other situations many abandon or do not receive a treatment proper. For this reason, social support in patients resulting from the human immunodeficiency virus has been a widely used element to improve adherence to antiviral drugs. Objective: To determine the relationship between social support and adherence to antiretroviral treatment in patients with HIV in a Health Center in the year 2023. Methods: Applied study, with a hypothetical-deductive, quantitative approach, of non-experimental design and cross-section. The sample considered is 30 people belonging to the HAART area of the Health Center. The Duke UNC test will be guaranteed: 11, to evaluate social support and the factors that will follow adherence to antiviral medication, these will be evaluated using the CEATVIH evaluation form.

Introducción: Millones de personas han muerto a consecuencia del virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana en las últimas décadas, donde el único tratamiento es el uso de antirretrovirales, que va mejorando el estilo de vida del enfermo, pero en otras situaciones muchos abandonan o no reciben un adecuado tratamiento. Por ello, el apoyo social en pacientes infectados por el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana viene siendo un elemento muy usado para mejorar la adhesión al fármaco antiviral. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el apoyo social y la adhesión al tratamiento antirretroviral en pacientes con VIH de un Centro de Salud en el año 2023. Métodos: Estudio aplicada, con enfoque hipotético‐deductivo, cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental y corte transversal. La muestra considerada es de 30 personas pertenecientes al área de TARGA del centro de Salud. Se utilizará el test de Duke UNC: 11, para evaluar el apoyo social y los factores que afectan la adherencia a la medicación antiviral, estas serán evaluados mediante el formulario de evaluación CEATVIH
