Level of knowledge about contraceptive methods in fifth grade high school adolescents at the “Peruvian Suizo “School in Villa El Salvador, 2020

Abstract

Adolescence is a public health, sanitary and social problem where we face an unwanted pregnancy, either because of the greater risk that adolescent women have in having pregnancies and single mothers, but also because of family problems and also of their adolescent partner (1). However, the stage is associated with many risks, such as in their activities carried out by adolescents at all stages of their life, this can lead to disorders that compromise their lives and can even compromise the emotional health status in both sexes. (2) Adolescents have behaviors according to their lifestyle since childhood and therefore as young people they begin to have sexual relations on their own initiative or through the influence of external factors. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 16 million adolescents between 15 and 19 years give birth each year, most in low and middle income countries. Therefore, complications during childbirth is the second cause of death in adolescents in the world. It is said that each year, 3 million undergo unsafe abortions. This is why it is mentioned that babies born to teenage mothers have a higher risk of dying than those born to women aged 20 to 24.

Adolescente es un problema de salud pública, sanitario y social donde enfrentamos a un embarazo no deseados, ya sea por ser mayor riesgo que tienen las mujeres adolescentes en tener embarazos y maternos solteras, sino también por los problemas familiares y también de su pareja adolescente (1). Sin embargo, la etapa se asocia a muchos riesgos, como en sus actividades realizadas por adolescentes en toda etapa de su vida, esto puede llevar a trastornos que comprometen a sus vidas incluso puede comprometer al estado de salud emocional en ambos sexos. (2) los adolescentes tienen conductas según su estilo de vida desde su infancia y por ello de jóvenes comienzan a tener relaciones sexuales por propia iniciativa o mediante influencias de factores externos. Según la Organización mundial de la salud (OMS) 16 millones de adolescentes entre 15 a 19 años dan a luz cada año, la mayoría en países de ingresos bajos y medianos económicos. Por lo tanto, las complicaciones durante el parto es la segunda causa de muerte en adolescentes del mundo. Se dice que cada año, 3 millones se someten a abortos peligrosos. Es por eso se menciona que los bebés nacidos de las madres adolescentes tienen más riesgo a morir que los nacidos de mujeres de 20 a 24 años.
