Quality of life in patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment at the Peruvian Institute of Oncology and Radiotherapy, Lima-2021

Abstract

Objective: The objective was to determine the quality of life in patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment at the Peruvian Institute of Oncology and Radiotherapy, Lima-2021. Materials and methods: The focus of the study was quantitative and its methodological design was descriptive-cross-sectional. The population was made up of 109 patients. The data collection technique was the survey and the instrument used to measure the variable was the Quality of life questionnaire of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORCT QLQ-C30), which has 30 items and 3 dimensions. , which are the overall health status, area of ​​functioning and symptoms.

Objetivo: El objetivo fue determinar la calidad de vida en pacientes con tratamiento de quimioterapia del Instituto Peruano de Oncología y Radioterapia, Lima-2021. Materiales y métodos: El enfoque del estudio fue cuantitativo y su diseño metodológico descriptivo-transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 109 pacientes. La técnica de recolección de datos fue la encuesta y el instrumento empleado para medir la variable fue el cuestionario Calidad de vida de la Organización Europea para la Investigación y el Tratamiento del Cáncer (EORCT QLQ-C30), que presenta por 30 ítems y 3 dimensiones, las cuales son el estado global de salud, área de funcionamiento y de síntomas.
