Knowledge about the care of the peripherally inserted percutaneous catheter in the nurses of the neonatal intensive care unit of the Daniel A. Carrión Hospital, Callao, 2021

Abstract

The objective of this work is to determine the level of knowledge about the care of the peripherally inserted percutaneous catheter in the nursing professionals of the neonatal intensive care unit of the Daniel A. Carrión Hospital in Callao, Lima 2021. The approach to be used is quantitative. , because measurements of the variable will be made for statistical analysis. Cross-sectional design because the data will be obtained at a single moment, and prospective, because the data will be obtained during the development of the study and will be analyzed at a certain time at the conclusion of the information collection. The population and census sample will be made up of nursing professionals from the neonatal intensive care service (NICU) of the Daniel A. Carrión Hospital in Callao. Which, according to records from the hospital's nursing leadership, currently has 30 professionals. The instrument to be used is a questionnaire originally developed in Mexico, in 2014. This questionnaire contains 25 items and 2 dimensions (general and specific knowledge). The items are dichotomous, assigning 1 point to the correct answer and 0 points to the incorrect answer. Taking as final scores: High (19-25 pts.), Medium (11-18), and Low (0-10).

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo Determinar el nivel de conocimientos sobre los cuidados del catéter percutáneo de inserción periférica en los profesionales de enfermería de la unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales del Hospital Daniel A. Carrión del Callao, Lima 2021. El enfoque a utilizar es cuantitativo, debido a que se realizarán mediciones de la variable, para su análisis estadístico. De diseño transversal porque se obtendrán los datos en un solo momento, y prospectivo, porque los datos obtendrá durante el desarrollo del estudio y se analizaran en un tiempo determinado al concluir la recolección de información. La población y muestra censal estará conformada por los profesionales de enfermería del servicio de cuidados intensivos neonatales (UCIN) del Hospital Daniel A. Carrión del Callao. Que, según registros de jefatura de enfermería del hospital, actualmente cuenta con 30 profesionales. El instrumento a utilizar es un cuestionario desarrollado originalmente en México, en el año 2014. Dicho cuestionario contiene 25 ítems y 2 dimensiones (conocimientos generales y específicos). Los ítems son dicotómicos, asignándole 1 punto a la respuesta correcta y 0 puntos a la respuesta incorrecta. Teniendo como puntuaciones finales: Alto (19-25 pts.), Medio (11-18), y Bajo (0-10).
