Socioeconomic characteristics of patients with covid-19 admitted to the ICU of a national hospital in Lima, August – November 2021

Abstract

This project has been developed following the line of research corresponding to patient care. Patients with COVID-19 have been taken as a study element; for which we try to define the socioeconomic characteristics of the patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. This project seeks to provide the nursing community with a discussion tool to adequately characterize possible vulnerabilities of patients with covid 19 within the framework of promoting preventive health. Objective: To describe the socioeconomic characteristics of patients with COVID-19 who are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a National Hospital, in Lima, in the period August-November 2021. MATERIALS AND METHODS: the research has an Inductive – Deductive method. Quantitative, descriptive approach, with descriptive cross-sectional design. The population is 60 patients admitted to the ICU from August - November at the Ate Vitarte Emergency Hospital for which inclusion and exclusion criteria are applied; The instrument to be used is the questionnaire and the technique is the survey.

Este proyecto se ha desarrollado siguiendo la línea de investigación correspondiente a la atención de pacientes. Se ha tomado como elemento de estudio a los pacientes con COVID-19; para los que tratamos de definir las características socioeconómicas de los pacientes que ingresan a la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos. El presente proyecto busca brindar a la comunidad de enfermería una herramienta de discusión para caracterizar de manera adecuada posibles vulnerabilidades de pacientes con covid 19 en el marco de impulsar la salud preventiva. Objetivo: Describir las características socioeconómicas de los pacientes con COVID-19 que ingresan a la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos de un Hospital Nacional, de Lima, en el periodo agosto-noviembre 2021. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: la investigación tiene un método Inductivo – Deductivo un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, con diseño transversal descriptivo. La población es de 60 pacientes que ingresan a la UCI de agosto - noviembre en el Hospital de Emergencia Ate Vitarte para los cuales se aplican criterios de inclusión y exclusión; el instrumento a utilizar es el cuestionario y la técnica es la encuesta.
