Knowledge and practices on anemia prevention in mothers of children under 3 years old, who attend growth and development control at a hospital in Huaraz, 2023

Abstract

Anemia is defined as a decrease in the amount of hemoglobin in the blood, resulting in a reduced ability to transport oxygen to the body's tissues. In the case of young children, it can negatively affect their growth, brain development, and resistance to infections. Objective: Determine the relationship that exists between knowledge and practices on anemia prevention in mothers of children under three years of age. Method and materials: the research have a quantitative, applied, transversal-non-experimental, descriptive and correlational approach. The sample will be eighty mothers of children under three years of age who attend growth and development monitoring. To measure the two variables, interviews will be used to collect data and the instruments will be questionnaires that will allow us to measure the knowledge and practices of the mothers, both instruments were validated in 2020, the data collected will be entered into a data matrix developed and structured in the SPSS program version vs 27, which will be presented in tables and graphs for descriptive statistics, they will also favor contrasting the hypotheses to determine relationships. Inferential statistics if there is a relationship between the variables, therefore, the non-parametric Spearman Rho test or the parametric Pearson correlation test will be applied.

Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación que existe entre conocimientos y practicas sobre prevención de anemia en madres de niños menores de tres años. Método y materiales: la investigación es de enfoque cuantitativo, aplicada, transversalno experimental, descriptivo y correlacional. La muestra será ochenta madres de niños menores de tres años que acuden a control de crecimiento y desarrollo, para medir las dos variables se utilizaran la entrevista para la recolección de datos y los instrumentos serán los cuestionarios que nos permitirán medir el conocimiento y prácticas de las madres, ambos instrumentos fueron validados en el año 2020, los datos recopilados se ingresaran a una matriz de datos desarrollada y estructurada en el programa SPSS de versión vs 27, las que serán presentadas en tablas y gráficos para la estadística descriptiva, también favorecerán contrastar las hipótesis para determinar relaciones. Estadística inferencial si existe relación entre las variables, por ende, se aplicará bien la prueba no paramétrica de Rho de Spearman o la prueba paramétrica de correlación de Pearson.
