Work stress and quality of life of the nursing professional in the intensive care area of a hospital in Lima - 2023

Abstract

Objective: to determine the relationship between work stress and quality of life in the nursing staff of the intensive care unit of a national hospital in Lima - 2023. Method: the quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational, the population that will participate is made up of 50 nurses from the ICU of the national hospital. The technique to be used is a WHOQOL-BREF quality of life scale tool and a questionnaire on work stress, the Nursing Stress Scale Model – NSS. Both instruments went through a validity and reliability test. The collected data will be processed by the statistical software SPSS v26, the hypothesis tests will be carried out using the Spearman correlation coefficient.

Método: la metodología de enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo, no experimental, transversal y correlacional, la población que participará está conformada por 50 enfermeras de la UCI del hospital nacional. La técnica a emplear es una herramienta de un cuestionario sobre el estrés laboral el Modelo la Escala de Estrés en Enfermería – NSS y la escala de calidad de vida WHOQOL-BREF. Ambos instrumentos pasaron por una prueba de validez y confiabilidad. Los datos recopilados serán procesados por el software estadístico SPSS v26, las pruebas de hipótesis se realizarán utilizando el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman.
