Nursing management of central venous catheter and patient device infections in intensive care unit

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between nursing management of the central venous catheter and patient infections in the device in the Intensive Care Unit of a National Hospital in Lima, 2023. Methods: The hypothetical-deductive method was used, approach quantitative, applied type, non-experimental, descriptive and correlational design; Likewise, the population and sample will be made up of 30 nursing professionals. For the processing and analysis of data, first, the collected information will be ordered, then the coding will be carried out, once the data is collected, it will be organized according to its study variables, the data will be processed using the Microsoft Excel program and the SPSS statistical software. to generate tables and/or graphs by dimensions and indicators of the study of the first variable, nursing management of the central venous catheter and of the second variable, patient infections in the device; In addition, to determine the relationship between variables, the Spearman Statistical Correlation Test (Rho) will be applied.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre el manejo de enfermería del catéter venoso central y las infecciones del paciente en el dispositivo en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos de un Hospital Nacional de Lima, 2023. Métodos: Se utilizó el método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental, descriptivo y correlacional; asimismo, la población y muestra estará conformada por los 30 profesionales de enfermería. Para el procesamiento y análisis de datos primero, se ordenará la información recolectada, luego se llevará a cabo la codificación, una vez recolectados los datos se organizará según sus variables de estudio, los datos se procesarán utilizando el programa Microsoft Excel y el software estadístico SPSS para generar tablas y/o gráficos por dimensiones e indicadores del estudio de la primera variable manejo de enfermería del catéter venoso central y de la segunda variable infecciones del paciente en el dispositivo; además, para determinar la relación entre variables se aplicará la Prueba Estadística de Correlación de Spearman (Rho).
