Knowledge about preventive measures against COVID-19 in traders of the Villa María del Perpetuo Socorro market. Lima-2020

Abstract

Aim. The objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge about preventive measures against Covid-19 in Merchants of the Villa Maria del Perpetuo Socorro Market. Lima-2020. Materials and methods. The study was quantitative, descriptive and transversal, in a population made up of 76 merchants who were interviewed, and the survey called the Covid-19 Knowledge Questionnaire was applied to them. The collected data were entered into the SPSS database; and processed with the percentile test. Results. In the Etiological Dimension, a little less than half (46.1%) of the merchants indicated having a low level of knowledge regarding Covid-19 with a slight tendency towards medium knowledge (32.9%), in terms of the Transmission Media and Group Dimension Risk Analysis showed that a little less than half (46.1%) of merchants have a medium level of knowledge regarding Covid-19 with a slight tendency towards low knowledge (42.1%). Likewise, in the Clinical Picture Dimension, a little less than half (44.7%) of the merchants indicated having a medium level of knowledge regarding Covid-19 with a slight tendency towards low knowledge (39.5%). In the Prevention and Protection Measures Dimension, a little less than half (42.1%) of the merchants indicated having a medium level of knowledge regarding Covid-19 with a slight tendency towards low knowledge (34.2%). Conclusions. Merchants in the Villa María del Perpetuo Socorro market indicate that only half (50%) indicated that they have a low level of knowledge and only a little less than a third (30.3%) have high knowledge.

Objetivo. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue Determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre medidas preventivas frente al Covid-19 en Comerciantes del Mercado de Villa Maria del Perpetuo Socorro. Lima-2020. Materiales y métodos. El estudio fue cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal, en una población conformada por 76 comerciantes a los que se les entrevistó, y se les aplico la encuesta denominada Cuestionario Sobre el Conocimiento del Covid-19. Los datos recolectados fueron vaciados en la base de SPSS; y procesados con la prueba de percentiles. Resultados. En la Dimensión Etiológica, un poco menos de la mitad (46.1%) de los comerciantes indicaron tener nivel de conocimiento bajo frente al Covid-19 con ligera tendencia al conocimiento medio (32.9 %), en cuanto a la Dimensión Medios de Transmisión y Grupo de Riesgo se evidencio un poco menos de la mitad (46.1%) de los comerciantes tener nivel de conocimiento medio frente al Covid-19 con ligera tendencia al conocimiento bajo (42.1 %). Así mismo, en la Dimensión Cuadro Clínico un poco menos de la mitad (44.7%) de los comerciantes indicaron tener nivel de conocimiento medio frente al Covid-19 con ligera tendencia al conocimiento bajo (39.5%). En la Dimensión Medidas de Prevención y Protección un poco menos de la mitad (42.1%) de los comerciantes indicaron tener nivel de conocimiento medio frente al Covid-19 con ligera tendencia al conocimiento bajo (34.2%). Conclusiones. Los comerciantes del mercado de Villa María del Perpetuo Socorro indican que solo la mitad (50 %) señalaron tener nivel de conocimiento bajo y solo poco menos de un tercio (30.3%) presenta conocimiento alto.
