Efficacy of preventive nursing measures in the prevention and control of pressure ulcers in the elderly

Abstract

Objectives: Determine the effectiveness of preventive nursing measures in the prevention and control of pressure ulcers in older adults. Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to a critical reading, using Jover's evaluation to identify their degree of evidence. Results: In the final selection, 5 articles were chosen, we found that 80% (04) correspond to Spain, with 20% (01) correspond to Brazil. Systematic reviews have been studied with 40% corresponding to the country of Spain. Likewise among the quasi-experimental studies, with 40%, from the country of Spain. And with 20% we have the cross-sectional descriptive study belonging to Brazil and Spain. Whereas of the articles analyzed, 100% affirm that preventive nursing measures are effective in the prevention and control of pressure ulcers. Conclusions: It was evident in the reviewed research that there is effectiveness of preventive nursing measures in the prevention and control of pressure ulcers in the elderly.

Objetivos: Determinar la eficacia de las medidas preventivas de enfermería en la prevención y control de las ulceras por presión en el adulto mayor. Materiales y Métodos: Revisión Sistemática observacional y retrospectivo, la búsqueda se ha restringido a artículos con texto completo, y los artículos seleccionados se sometieron a una lectura crítica, utilizando la evaluación de Jover para identificar su grado de evidencia. Resultados: En la selección definitiva se eligieron 5 artículos, encontramos que el 80% (04) corresponden a España, con un 20% (01) corresponden a Brasil. Han sido estudiados las revisiones sistemáticas con un 40% correspondientes al país de España. Asi mismo entre los estudios cuasi experimentales, con un 40%, del país de España. Y con un 20% tenemos el estudio descriptivo transversal perteneciente a Brasil y a España. Donde de artículos analizados el 100% afirma que las medidas preventivas de enfermería son eficaces en la prevención y control de las úlceras por presión. Conclusiones: Se evidenció en las investigaciones revisadas que existe eficacia de las medidas preventivas de enfermería en la prevención y control de las úlceras por presión en el adulto mayor
