Self-esteem and its relationship with self-care capacity in hemodialysis patients at a national hospital in Callao, Lima - 2021

Abstract

Objective To identify the relationship between Self-esteem and Self-care Capacity in patients on Hemodialysis in a National Hospital in Callao, 2021. This research has a quantitative, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional correlational approach. The population is made up of 50 patients, who come to undergo their Hemodialysis treatment at a National Hospital in Callao. We will not work with a sample since the total population is finite and accessible. The technique will be the survey, which will be used for data collection. To measure Self-esteem, the instrument that was validated in 2017 will be used, it is the Rosemberg Scale (EAR) that contains 10 items, with a 4-point Likert-type response, which measures 2 dimensions: feeling of respect and self-acceptance. . For the self-care capacity, the instrument that was validated in 2017 and has a reliability of 0.87 will be used, validated using the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. The data will be statistically processed with Spearman's correlation coefficient using figures and tables.

Objetivo Identificar la relación que hay entre la Autoestima y la Capacidad de Autocuidado en los pacientes en Hemodiálisis en un hospital Nacional del Callao, 2021. Esta investigación es de enfoque cuantitativo, observacional, de tipo descriptivo, correlacional de corte transversal. La población está constituida por 50 pacientes, que acuden a realizar su tratamiento de Hemodiálisis a un Hospital Nacional del Callao, no se trabajará con una muestra ya que la población total es finita y accesible. La técnica será la encuesta, que se utilizará para la recolección de datos. Para medir la Autoestima se utilizará el instrumento que fue validado en el año 2017, es la Escala de Rosemberg (EAR) que contiene 10 items, con respuesta tipo Likert de 4 puntos, que miden 2 dimensiones: sentimiento de respeto y aceptación de sí mismo. Para la capacidad de autocuidado se usará el instrumento que fue validado en el 2017 y cuenta con una confiabilidad de 0.87, validado mediante el coeficiente del Alfa de Cronbach. Los datos se procesarán estadísticamente con el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman mediante figuras y tablas.
