Level of knowledge and practice of nursing care in the neurodevelopment of the premature newborn in a Level II Hospital in the San Martin Region, 2022

Abstract

The nursing professional is the one who provides care to the newborn in the extrauterine environment oriented to its neurodevelopment. These cares include interventions to control external stimuli that affect the newborn, including lights and noises in the environment, optimizing the environment in which the newborn develops by maintaining the newborn's posture and maintaining minimal manipulation, as well as pain management, the use of the Kangaroo Mother Method (MMC), encouraging and promoting breastfeeding and parental intervention. The objective of the research is "to relate the level of knowledge and the practice of nursing care in the neurodevelopment of the premature neonate in a level II hospital in the San Martín region, 2022." The methodology applied in this research is quantitative, descriptive and correlational. The population under study is confirmed by 50 nurses who provide their services and care in a level II hospital in the San Martin region and all were considered part of the sample (census). The instruments for obtaining the research data were a questionnaire and a checklist, both valid and reliable. The questionnaire consists of 20 questions and is used to measure the level of knowledge and the Checklist consists of 32 items and is used to measure the practice of nursing care.

El Enfermería es quien brinda los cuidados del recién nacido en el ambiente extrauterino orientados al neurodesarrollo del mismo. Estos cuidados incluyen intervenciones para el control de los estímulos externos que afectan al recién nacido entre ellas las luces y ruidos del ambiente, optimizar el entorno en el que se desarrolla el recién nacido manteniendo la postura del recién nacido y manteniendo una minia manipulación, así como el manejo del dolor, la utilización del Método Madre Canguro (MMC), incentivar y promover la lactancia materna e intervención de los padres. El objetivo de la investigación es “relacionar el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica del cuidado de la enfermera en el neurodesarrollo del neonato prematuro de un hospital nivel II de la región San Martín, 2022”. la metodología aplicada en esta investigación es cuantitativa descriptiva y correlacional. la población en estudio está confirmada por 50 enfermeras que brindan sus servicios y cuidados en un hospital nivel II de la región San Martin y se consideró a todas como parte de la muestra (censo). Los instrumentos para la obtención de los datos de investigación fueron un cuestionario y una lista de chequeo ambos válidos y confiables. El cuestionario consta de 20 preguntas y es utilizado para medir el nivel de conocimiento y la Lista de chequeo consta de 32 ítems y es utilizado para medir la práctica del cuidado de enfermería.
