Efficacy of the use of racecadotril compared with the use of other treatments to reduce the hypersecretion of water and electrolytes in the intestine in children under 5 years of age with acute diarrhea

Abstract

We can conclude that, like the other authors, racecadotril is an effective medication for the initial treatment of children under 5 years of age with acute diarrheal disease compared to other treatments, by demonstrating a decrease in the number of stools at the beginning of therapy. It was determined that the use of this medication within the therapy for EDAs is recommended, since the adverse effects presented by this drug are minor compared to other medications used for this type of diseases.

Podemos concluir que al igual que los otros autores, el racecadotrilo es un medicamento eficaz para el tratamiento inicial de niños menores de 5 años con enfermedad diarreica aguda en comparación a otros tratamientos, esto al demostrar una disminución en el número de deposiciones iniciada la terapia. Se determinó que el uso de este medicamento dentro de la terapia para las EDAs es recomendable, ya que los efectos adversos presentados por este fármaco son menores en comparación a los otros medicamentos usados para este tipo de enfermedades.
