Level of knowledge and practice in the nursing professional on steam sterilization in autoclave of the Hospital III EsSalud Juliaca 2022

Abstract

The objective of this research was “to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice in the nursing professional on steam autoclave sterilization at Hospital III ESSALUD Juliaca 2022.” The present study is assumed as the hypothetico-deductive method; The approach is quantitative. The type of research is applied, the research design is non-experimental and cross-sectional. Non-experimental designs are characterized by the fact that the variables are not deliberately manipulated, and no experiments are carried out with the variables in question. The study population is 25 nurses who work in the sterilization service at Hospital III ESSALUD. The sample will be 100% of the population, this is known as a census study. The instrument to measure knowledge will be the questionnaire, consisting of 4 dimensions with 15 questions in total, and for the practical variable, the checklist with 2 dimensions containing 24 questions will be used. The instrument has a Cronbach's alpha reliability of (α = 0.80) for knowledge and for practice (α = 0.91). Finally, a non-parametric statistical test will be used, which will be the Spearman correlation since the data of the first variable is quantitative and the second variable is qualitative.

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo “determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y práctica en el profesional de enfermería sobre esterilización a vapor en autoclave del Hospital III ESSALUD Juliaca 2022”. El presente estudio se asume como el método hipotético-deductivo; el enfoque es el cuantitativo, El tipo de investigación es aplicada, el diseño de investigación es no experimental de corte transversal. Los diseños no experimentales se caracterizan por que no se manipula deliberadamente las variables, además no se realizan ningún experimentos con las variables en mención.La población de estudio es de 25 enfermeras que laboran en el servicio de esterilización en el Hospital III ESSALUD. La muestra será el 100% de la población a esto se le conoce como un estudio censal. El instrumento para medir el conocimiento será el cuestionario constará de 4 dimensiones con 15 preguntas en total, y para la variable practica se utilizará la lista de cotejos con 2 dimensiones que contiene 24 preguntas. El instrumento tiene una confiabilidad en el alfa de cronbach de (α = 0.80) para el conocimiento y para la práctica (α = 0.91). Finalmente se utilizará una prueba estadística no paramétrica que será la correlación de spearman ya que los datos de la primera variables es cuantitativa y la segunda variable es cualitativa.
