Level of knowledge of nursing staff in the management of port-a-cath catheter at Alberto Sabogal Sologuren National Hospital 2021

Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the level of knowledge of the nursing staff of the Alberto Sabogal Sologur National Hospital in the management of the Port-A-Cath Catheter of patients with oncological disease. It has a quantitative approach, observational type, descriptive scope, cross-sectional and prospective projection. The population will be made up of 46 nursing professionals who work in the hospital's cancer patient care areas, whose study sample will be census-type, that is, considering the entire population, to whom the data collection instrument will be applied. data, which will consist of a questionnaire taken from previous studies, consisting of 25 closed multiple-choice questions, and comprising three specific dimensions related to the management of the Port-A-Cath Catheter device: general aspects, use and maintenance, and prevention of complications.

El presente estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar el nivel de conocimiento del personal de enfermería del Hospital Nacional Alberto Sabogal Sologuren el manejo de Catéter Port-A-Cath de pacientes con enfermedad oncológica. Es de enfoque cuantitativo, tipo observacional, alcance descriptivo, corte transversal y proyección prospectiva. La población estará constituida por 46 profesionales de enfermería que laboran en las áreas de atención de pacientes oncológicos del hospital, cuya muestra de estudio será de tipo censal, es decir considerando la totalidad de la población, a quienes se les aplicará el instrumento de recolección de datos, el mismo que consistirá en un cuestionario tomado de estudios anteriores, constituido de 25 preguntas cerradas de opción múltiple de respuesta, y que comprende tres dimensiones específicas relacionadas al manejo del dispositivo Catéter Port-A- Cath: aspectos generales, uso y mantenimiento, y prevención de complicaciones.
