The degree of knowledge in oral health of the nursing staff that provides hospital care for Covid-19 at the Maison de Santé clinic, Lima headquarters

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the level of oral health knowledge among nursing staff. The methodology used was a quantitative, basic-type, descriptive design. The study included all nursing professionals from the Intensive Care Unit, considering both temporary and permanent contract workers, with a total of 40 nurses (both Licensed and Technicians). The statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 25 and Excel 2019. Results showed that 42.5% of the respondents identified as male, and 57.5% identified as female, indicating that there are more female nurses at this healthcare facility. It was also observed that both nursing technicians and licensed nurses have a high level of oral health knowledge at the Maison de Santé clinic, Lima branch. The conclusion reached is that the level of oral health knowledge among nursing staff providing COVID-19 hospital care at the Maison de Santé clinic, Lima branch, is optimal in all aspects, which is confirmed by the results obtained.

El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el grado de conocimiento en salud bucal del personal de enfermería. Como metodología, se empleó un estudio cuantitativo, tipo básico, diseño descriptivo simple. Se estudiaron al total de profesionales de enfermería del Servicio de Cuidados Intensivos, considerando trabajadores con contrato temporal e indefinido, el cual, cuenta con un total de 40 enfermeros (entre Licenciados y Técnicos). El análisis estadístico se realizó con el programa SPSS versión 25 y Excel 2019. Como resultados se obtuvo que un 42.5% de encuestados manifiesta ser de sexo masculino y un 57,5% indicó ser de sexo femenino, es decir existen más enfermeras en dicho centro de salud. Del mismo modo se visualiza que tanto los técnicos y licenciados de enfermería cuentan con un alto conocimiento sobre la salud bucal en la clínica Maison de Santé, sede Lima. Se llega a la conclusión de que el grado de conocimiento en salud bucal del personal de enfermería que brinda atención hospitalaria por COVID-19 en la clínica Maison de Santé, sede Lima es óptima en todas sus formas, esto se confirma gracias a los resultados obtenidos.
