Level of knowledge and practices of the nurse in the care and maintenance of the peripherally inserted central catheter in neonates hospitalized in the NICU of a private clinic in Lima, 2023

Abstract

The main objective of this research is determining the knowledge and practice levels of the nurse in the care and maintenance of the peripherally inserted central catheter in neonates hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of a Private Clinic in Lima, 2023, It is a study with a quantitative approach, a hypothetical deductive method of the Basic type [kind], non-experimental, correlational, descriptive and cross-sectional design, it will study which a population of 35 nurses, the type of teachers to be used will be census type, therefore be a small town. Two instruments will be used to collect data on the variables; For the level of knowledge, the questionnaire originally developed in Mexico in 2014 was taken as a reference. This questionnaire contains 25 items and 2 dimensions (general and specific knowledge), at the level of Peru, the instrument was used by Livia C, in the year 2019, likewise to determine the level of practice, a Nursing Procedure Guide for the Placement of a Peripherally Inserted Central Venous Catheter (PICC) will be used, prepared by the San Borja Children's Institute in Lima in 2021, it is stated of 36 items. The results obtained will be collect using previously validated instruments, then they will be process, coded and subsequently entered into a database that will be designed in the Excel program. Likewise, the results obtained will be analyzed and synthesized through the software. statistical version 24.0 SPSS.

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal determinar el nivel de conocimientos y práctica de la enfermera en el cuidado y mantenimiento del catéter central de inserción periférica en neonatos hospitalizados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales (UCIN) de una Clínica Privada en Lima, 2023, es un estudio con enfoque cuantitativo, de método hipotético/deductivo de tipo básica, diseño no experimental, correlacional, descriptivo y de corte transversal, en el que se estudiará una población de 35 enfermeras, el tipo de muestreo a utilizar será de tipo censal, por ser una población pequeña. Para la recolección de datos de las variables se usarán dos instrumentos; para el nivel de conocimiento se tomó como referencia el cuestionario desarrollado originalmente en México, en el año 2014. Dicho cuestionario contiene 25 ítems y 2 dimensiones (conocimientos generales y específicos), a nivel del Perú, el instrumento fue utilizado por Livia C, en el año 2019; así mismo para determinar el nivel de practica se utilizará una Guía de Procedimiento de Enfermería para la Colocación de Catéter Venoso Central de Inserción Periférica (PICC), elaborado por el Instituto del Niño de San Borja en Lima en el 2021, consta de 36 items. Los resultados obtenidos serán recolectados usando instrumentos validados previamente, luego serán procesados, codificados y posteriormente serán ingresados en una base de datos que van a ser diseñados en el programa Excel, igualmente los resultados obtenidos se analizaran y sintetizaran a través del software estadístico versión 24.0 SPSS.
