Level of resilience and risk of alcohol consumption among adolescents at the Centro Materno Infantil Tahuantinsuyo Bajo, Independencia, Lima – 2018

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship that exists between the level of resilience and the risk of adolescent alcohol consumption at the Tahuantinsuyo Bajo Maternal and Child Center, Independencia, Lima - 2018. Methodology: Study with a quantitative descriptive approach, cross-sectional correlational, population It was made up of 380 adolescents who attend the SADA program (Different Care Service for Adolescents), a sample of 121 adolescents was taken, by non-probabilistic sampling by convenience. The Wagnild and Young questionnaire was used and for Alcohol Risk AUDIT, these instruments are validated. Results: Regarding the resilience variable, 76% presented a high level, 24% a medium level and 0% a low level; Regarding their self-confidence dimension, 73% presented a high level of resilience, 26% a medium level. Regarding the alcohol consumption variable, 40% (48) of adolescents surveyed presented medium risk, followed by 57% (69) who presented low risk. Regarding the dimensions, the highest score was harmful alcohol consumption and the lowest score was alcohol risk. The correlational statistical test was Chi square 13.509, df 3, P value 0.004, indicating an inversely proportional, statistically significant relationship between both variables. Conclusion: There is an inverse relationship between the level of resilience and the risk of alcohol consumption.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de resiliencia y el riesgo al consumo de alcohol del adolescente en el Centro Materno Infantil Tahuantinsuyo Bajo, Independencia, Lima - 2018. Metodología: Estudio de enfoque cuantitativo descriptivo, de corte correlacional transversal, la población estuvo conformada por 380 adolescentes que acuden al programa SADA (Servicio de Atención Diferenciada para Adolescentes),se tomó una muestra de 121 adolescentes, por muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Se utilizó el cuestionario de Wagnild y Young y para Riesgo de Alcohol AUDIT, dichos instrumentos están validados. Resultados: En cuanto a la variable resiliencia, el 76% presentó un nivel alto, el 24% nivel medio y 0% nivel bajo; con respecto a su dimensión confianza en sí mismo el 73% presentó alto nivel de resiliencia, el 26%, nivel medio. En cuanto a la variable consumo de alcohol, el 40% (48) de adolescentes encuestados presentaron riesgo medio, seguido de un 57% (69) que presentaron riesgo bajo. En cuanto a las dimensiones, el más alto puntaje fue consumo perjudicial de alcohol y la de menor puntaje fue riesgo de alcohol. La prueba estadística correlacional fue Chi cuadrado 13.509, gl 3, P valor 0.004, indicando una relación inversamente proporcional, estadísticamente significativa entre ambas variables. Conclusión: Existe relación inversa entre el nivel de resiliencia y el riesgo al consumo de alcohol.
