Burden and quality of life of caregivers of patients with cancer in home palliative care at the Oncosalud Clinic, 2022.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine how the level of care overload is related to the quality of life of caregivers of cancer patients in palliative care who are cared for in the home area of an Oncology Clinic in Lima, 2022. A quantitative, applicative study with a correlational design. The population will be finite and will be made up of all 60 primary caregivers of terminal cancer patients who belong to the home service of an Oncology Clinic in Lima, during the period April and June 2022. For data collection, the "Zarit Care Burden Perception Interview - ZCBI" and the "Quality of life scale, family caregiver version of the cancer patient" developed by Betty Ferrell will be used, both have high validity and reliability. Finally, Spearman's correlation coefficient will be used for hypothesis testing, which will be shown in tables and figures for analysis and discussion.

El estudio tiene como fin determinar cómo el nivel de sobrecarga del cuidado se relaciona con la calidad de vida de cuidadores de pacientes con cáncer en cuidados paliativos que se atienden en el área domiciliario de en una Clínica Oncológica de Lima, 2022. Estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, aplicativo con diseño correlacional. la población será finita y estará conformada por todos los 60 cuidadores primarios de pacientes con cáncer terminal que pertenecen al servicio domiciliario de en una Clínica Oncológica de Lima, durante el período abril y junio del 2022. Para la recolección de datos se empleará la “Entrevista de Percepción de Carga del Cuidado de Zarit – ZCBI” y la “escala de calidad de vida versión cuidador familiar del paciente con cáncer” elaborada por Betty Ferrell, ambos cuentan con una alta validez y confiabilidad. Finalmente se usará el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman para la prueba de hipótesis que serán mostrados en tablas y figuras para el análisis y discusión.
