Resumen
A study was conducted with the aim of determining the level of anxiety regarding dental surgery treatment. The study was descriptive, prospective, and cross-sectional, carried out at the Norbert Wiener University Dental Clinic during the months of April, May, and June of 2016 in the Lima district, Peru. The study included 100 adult patients aged 20 to 59 years, who were given an anxiety assessment using the Modified Norman Corah Anxiety Scale. The results showed that 72% of patients exhibited some level of anxiety, ranging from mild to moderate and severe. The male gender presented a higher percentage of anxiety compared to the female gender.
Resumen
Se realizó un estudio con el objetivo de determinar el nivel de ansiedad frente al tratamiento de cirugía dental, el estudio fue de tipo descriptivo, prospectivo de corte transversal realizado en la clínica odontológica de universidad Norbert Wiener durante los meses de abril, mayo y junio del 2016 en el distrito de Lima-Perú. En el estudio participaron 100 pacientes adultos entre 20 a 59 años de edad, a los cuales se les realizó un test de valoración de ansiedad, se aplicó la Escala de Ansiedad de Norman Corah Modificada, hallándose un 72% de pacientes con algún grado de ansiedad entre leve, moderada y severa. El sexo masculino presentó mayor porcentaje de ansiedad frente al sexo femenino
