Level of knowledge of arterial hypertension and adherence to drug treatment in hypertensive patients at a Regional Hospital of San Martín - 2023

Abstract

When we talk about high blood pressure, we refer to "Arterial Hypertension", it affects millions of people worldwide, this health condition increases the risks of cardiovascular diseases, strokes, and many other health-related problems. that can seriously affect the person who suffers from it. The objective of this academic work is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of arterial hypertension and adherence to treatment in hypertensive patients at a regional hospital in the San Martin region. A hypothetical deductive study will be carried out, with a quantitative approach, applied type of non-experimental design, including patients with medically diagnosed arterial hypertension and treated with medication in the medical service and clinics. Factors such as age, sex, education, knowledge about hypertension and treatment, perception of complications, and side effects of therapy will also be evaluated. The analysis of the data collected will make it possible to highlight those factors that affect adherence to treatment, in order to develop strategies to propose future improvements in this regard, this could have a significant impact at a preventive level, with respect to the complications associated with the pathology studied, as well as with cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular accidents. The results will be analyzed descriptively through tables and graphs and the Spearman's Rho statistic will be used for the inferential analysis.

Cuando hablamos de la presión arterial elevada, hacemos referencia a la “Hipertensión Arterial”, ésta incide en millones de personas a nivel del mundo, esta condición de salud incrementa los riesgos de enfermedades cardiovasculares, accidentes cerebrovasculares, y muchísimos otros problemas relacionados a la salud que pueden afectar gravemente a la persona que lo padece. El objetivo del presente trabajo académico es determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento de la hipertensión arterial y la adherencia al tratamiento pacientes hipertensos de un hospital regional en la región San Martin. Se realizará un estudio hipotético deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada de diseño no experimental, incluyendo pacientes con hipertensión arterial diagnosticada médicamente y tratados con medicación en el servicio de medicina y consultorios. También se evaluarán factores como la edad, el sexo, la educación, el conocimiento sobre la hipertensión y el tratamiento, la percepción de las complicaciones y los efectos secundarios a la terapéutica. El análisis de los datos recopilados permitirá evidenciar aquellos factores que afectan la adherencia al tratamiento, a fin de desarrollar estrategias para plantear futuras mejoras al respecto, esto podría tener un impacto significativo a nivel preventivo, con respecto a las complicaciones asociadas con la patología estudiada, así como con las enfermedades cardiovasculares y accidentes cerebrovasculares. Los resultados se analizarán descriptivamente a través de tablas y gráficos y para el análisis inferencial se utilizará el estadístico Rho de Spearman.
