Coping strategies and stress in nurses in the emergency service of a hospital in Lima 2023

Abstract

Objective: To determine coping strategies and their relationship with stress in emergency service nurses. Methodology: Quantitative study, applied type, hypothetical deductive method, non-experimental, correlational and cross-sectional design, where a population of 80 nursing professionals will be considered to measure the two variables, the survey was chosen as the technique and the questionnaires as the instrument, to measure for the variable coping with work stress, the Coping with Stress Questionnaire (CAE) will be used and to measure stress the work stress scale will be used. This was created by Gray-Toft and Anderson in 1981 and has been adapted to the Peruvian context by Julia Elvira. Cazal Dueñas in 2017. The instruments were subjected to expert judgment to corroborate the relevance and coherence with the study variables, likewise the reliability was given through the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, the data will be processed in an Excel matrix to then be analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics applying Spearman's Rho hypothesis test; Likewise, ethical principles will be complied with throughout the research process.

Estudio cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, método hipotético deductivo, diseño no experimental, correlacional y transversal, donde se considerará a una población de 80 profesionales de enfermería para medir las dos variables se eligió como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento los cuestionarios, para medir la variable afrontamiento del estrés laboral se utilizara el cuestionario de afrontamiento del estrés (CAE) y para medir el estrés se usara la escala de estrés laboral esta fue creada por Gray-Toft y Anderson en 1981 y ha sido adaptado al contexto peruano por Julia Elvira Cazal Dueñas en el 2017. Los instrumentos fueron sometidos al juicio de expertos para corroborar la pertinencia y coherencia con las variables de estudio, asimismo la confiabilidad fue dada a través del coeficiente de Alpha de Cronbach, los datos se procesarán en una matriz de Excel para luego ser analizados con la estadística descriptiva e inferencial aplicándose la prueba de hipótesis de Rho de Spearman; asimismo se cumplirán los principios éticos durante todo el proceso de investigación.
