Factors that influence treatment abandonment in patients with arterial hypertension

Abstract

Materials and Methods: Systematic review of 10 articles, finding that 40% (04) correspond to Canada, 40% (04) correspond to Brazil, 10% (01) correspond to Spain, and finally with 10% (01) to USA. Most of them have been Systemic reviews type studies, with 50%, mainly in the countries of Canada and Brazil, and with 30% we have case control, cohort and analytical studies belonging to Spain, the United States and Brazil analyzed according to the Grade system, with a maximum age of 5 years. Results: Of the total number of articles reviewed, it was identified that 40% (4/10) reported that the factor that influences abandonment of treatment with arterial hypertension is forgetfulness, and 30% (3/10) reported that the factor What influences the abandonment of treatment with Arterial Hypertension is the level of knowledge, finally 20% (2/10) report that the factor that influences the abandonment of treatment with Arterial Hypertension is due to beliefs.Conclusions:It was evident in the research that 90% (n = 9/10) of the factors that influence abandonment of treatment with Arterial Hypertension are for personal reasons (forgetfulness, level of knowledge, beliefs), 10% ( 1/10) are for reasons of dissatisfaction with the health care service.

Materiales y Métodos: Revisión Sistemática de 10 artículos, encontrando que el 40% (04) corresponden a Canadá, 40%(04) corresponden a Brasil, 10% (01) corresponden a España, y finalmente con un 10%(01) a Estados Unidos. En su mayoría han sido estudios de tipo revisiones Sistémicas, con un 50%, principalmente en los países de Canadá y Brasil, y con un 30% tenemos a estudios de casos controles, cohorte y analíticos pertenecientes a España, Estados Unidos y Brasil analizados según el sistema Grade, con una antigüedad máxima de 5años. Resultados:Del Total de artículos revisados se identificó que el 40% (4/10) refiere que el factor que influye en el abandono al tratamiento con Hipertensión Arterial es el olvido, así mismo el 30%(3/10) refiere que el factor que influye en el abandono al tratamiento con Hipertensión Arterial es el nivel de conocimiento, finalmente el 20%(2/10) refiere que el factor que influye en el abandono al tratamiento con Hipertensión Arterial es por creencias.Conclusiones:Se evidenció en las investigaciones que el 90%(n = 9/10) delos factores que influyen en el abandono al tratamiento con Hipertensión Arterial son por razones personales (olvido, nivel de conocimiento, creencias), el 10%(1/10) son por razones de insatisfacción con el servicio de atención médica.
