Level of knowledge about breastfeeding and breastfeeding practice in first-time mothers in a private clinic in Lima, 2023

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relation that exists between the levels of knowledge about breastfeeding and the practice of breastfeeding in first mothers in a Private Clinic in Lima. Methodology: The type of investigation is going to be applicated. Design no experimental, descriptive, Correlational, or cross-sectional. We will work with 80 first-time women. Instrument: "Level of Knowledge and Practices on Breastfeeding in Mothers", to evaluate the variable "Level of Knowledge on Breastfeeding" the questionnaire adapted by Carmona in 2018 will be used, it consists of 3 dimensions, reliable by means of Cronbach's Alpha of 0.722, and to evaluate the variable "Breastfeeding Practice" the observation guide adapted by Carmona in 2018 will be applied, it consists of 2 dimensions, reliable by means of Cronbach's Alpha of 0.70. To obtain the data, the survey technique and an observation guide will be used for both variables, which were validated by the judgment of 03 experts. Statistical Processing and Data Analysis, for the analysis and Interpretation of the information, we are going to Programed Microsoft Excel, using the SPSS software version 26.0, and will be presented by means of tables and graphs. The parameters necessary to statistically examine the relationship between the two key variables, Spearman's Rho will be used.

Objetivo: “Determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre lactancia materna y práctica de amamantamiento en madres primerizas en una Clínica Privada de Lima”. Metodología: El tipo de investigación será aplicada. Diseño no experimental, descriptiva, correlacional y transversal. Se trabajará con 80 mujeres primerizas. Instrumento: “Nivel de Conocimiento y Prácticas sobre Lactancia Materna en Madres”, para evaluar la variable “Nivel de Conocimiento sobre la Lactancia Materna” se utilizará el cuestionario adaptado por Carmona en el 2018 consta de 3 dimensiones, confiable mediante Alpha de Cronbach de 0,722, y para evaluar la variable “Práctica de Amamantamiento” se aplicará la guía de observación adaptada por Carmona en el 2018 consta de 2 dimensiones, confiable mediante Alpha de Cronbach de 0,70. Para obtener los datos se empleará la técnica de la encuesta y una guía de observación para ambas variables, las mismas fueron validadas por el juicio de 03 expertos. Procesamiento Estadístico y Análisis de Datos: para el análisis e interpretación de la información será introducida al programa Microsoft Excel, usando el software SPSS versión 26.0 y se presentará por medio de tablas y gráficos. Los parámetros necesarios para examinar estadísticamente la relación entre las dos variables clave, se empleará la Rho de Spearman.
