Abstract

Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of self-care in adult and elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Huaral Base Health Center in 2022, research using the hypothetical deductive method, quantitative methodology study, since It will use the collection and statistical analysis of data, application level since the objective is to provide a solution to a problem, Correlational design that allows quantifying the existing relationship between the variables, the population is 50 patients with diabetes mellitus. type 2, who will participate in the present study, which is the total of this population. The technique was the survey and the instrument was a previously validated 18-question questionnaire. The data will be coded and then entered into a database created in the MS Excel program for subsequent analysis with the statistical program. To identify the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of self-care in the group, frequency distribution tables will be obtained for the knowledge variable according to its classification scales (high, medium and low). To determine the relationship of the variables in adults, older adults with Diabetes Mellitus at the Huaral Base Health Center, the Stanones scale will be used, with the objective of obtaining the intervals for the final value categories for adults and older adults with Diabetes Mellitus. type 2 diabetes mellitus. The scores allow categorization as follows: Low level of knowledge (0-6). Medium level of knowledge (7-12). High level of knowledge (13-18).

Los datos serán codificados y luego ingresados a una base de datos creada en el programa Ms Excel para su posterior análisis con el programa estadístico. Para identificar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica de autocuidado en el grupo, se obtendrán tablas de distribución de frecuencias, de la variable conocimiento según sus escalas de clasificación (alto, medio y bajo). Para determinar la relación de las variables en adultos, adultos mayores con Diabetes Mellitus en el Centro de Salud Base Huaral, se utilizará la escala de Stanones, con el objetivo de obtener los intervalos para las categorías de valor final para los adultos y adultos mayores con diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Los puntajes permiten categorizar de la siguiente manera: Nivel de conocimiento bajo (0-6). Nivel de conocimiento medio (7-12). Nivel de conocimiento alto (13-18).
