Level of self-care and family functionality in patients with chronic renal failure at a Military Hospital in Metropolitan Lima 2022

Abstract

Introduction: People undergoing renal replacement therapy experience significant changes in their lifestyle. A lack of knowledge, adaptation, and family communication makes renal replacement therapy ineffective, highlighting the need to understand self-care levels and family functionality to achieve better health outcomes. Objective: To determine the relationship between self-care level and family functionality in patients with chronic kidney disease at a Military Hospital in Metropolitan Lima, 2022. Methodology: A study with a quantitative approach, cross-sectional design, and correlational method. The total population will consist of patients in the nephrology service of the Military Hospital in Metropolitan Lima, comprising 52 patients with chronic kidney disease selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Procedures: Data will be collected from the renal unit of the nephrology service at the Military Hospital in Metropolitan Lima. The data will be entered into SPSS version 25. The survey will be used as the measurement instrument. To measure self-care levels, the Self-Care Agency Scale (ASA) with a reliability of 0.79 will be used. For family functionality, the Family Functioning Instrument (FF-SIL), with a reliability of 0.94, will be applied.

Introducción: Las personas con terapia de reemplazo renal, reciben significativos cambios en su ritmo de vida. Ante la falta de conocimiento, adaptación y comunicación familiar provocan que la terapia de reemplazo renal no sea efectiva haciendo necesario conocer el nivel autocuidado, así como la funcionalidad de la familia que hace que se logre mejores resultados en la salud. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre nivel de autocuidado y funcionalidad familiar en pacientes con insuficiencia renal crónica de un Hospital Militar en Lima Metropolitana 2022. Metodología: Estudio enfoque cuantitativo, de corte transversal y de diseño correlacional. con una totalidad de pacientes del servicio de nefrología del Hospital Militar de Lima metropolitana, conformada por 52 pacientes con ERC, Seleccionados según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Procedimientos: Se recolectarán los datos de información, en el servicio de unidad renal del servicio de nefrología del Hospital de Lima Metropolitana, se ingresará los datos en el programa SPSS Versión 25. Se utilizará la encuesta como instrumentos de medición; para medir el nivel de autocuidado se utilizará La Escala Valorativa de Agencia de Autocuidado (ASA) de confiabilidad 0.79. Y para funcionalidad familiar se utilizará el instrumento de Funcionamiento Familiar (FF-SIL), con una confiabilidad 0.94.
