Knowledge and nursing practice on care focused on the neurodevelopment of premature infants in the neonatal intensive care service of a hospital in Lima

Abstract

The World Health Organization; mentions that worldwide about 15 million births occur before 37 weeks of gestation and many premature babies have complications related to alterations in neurodevelopment. The objective of the study is: “To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and nursing practice on care focused on the neurodevelopment of premature babies in the neonatal intensive care service of a hospital in Lima, 2022.” The study will have a quantitative approach; Likewise applied, the design is non-experimental, transversal and correlational; The sample used will be census-based and consists of 80 nurses who work in the intensive care service of the Carlos Lanfranco la Hoz hospital; Two validated instruments will be applied in the first variable, the survey will be used as a technique and in the second variable, observation will be used as a technique, on the other hand, for data processing and analysis; The results will be manually entered into the Microsoft Excel program and SPSS version 26; For the hypothesis test, the non-parametric chi square test will be used, which seeks to relate two variables, the results will be shown in tables and/or graphs.

La Organización Mundial de la Salud; menciona que a nivel mundial unos 15 millones de nacimientos se producen antes de las 37 semanas de gestación y muchos de los bebés prematuros tienen complicaciones relacionadas a la alteración en el neurodesarrollo. El estudio tiene como Objetivo: “Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento con la práctica de enfermería sobre los cuidados centrados en el neurodesarrollo del prematuro del servicio de cuidados intensivos neonatales de un hospital de Lima, 2022”. El estudio tendrá un enfoque cuantitativo; de tipo aplicada asimismo, el diseño es no experimental, trasversal y correlacional; la muestra que se empleara será censal y está constituida por 80 enfermeras que laboran en el servicio de cuidados intensivos del hospital Carlos Lanfranco la Hoz; se aplicara dos instrumentos validados en la primera variable se utilizara la encuesta como técnica y en la segunda variable tendrá como técnica la observación, por otro lado, para el procesamiento y análisis de datos; serán ingresada manualmente los resultados al programa Microsoft Excel y al SPSS versión 26; para la prueba de hipótesis se usará la prueba no paramétrica chi cuadrado que busca relacionar dos variables, los resultados se mostraran en tablas y/o gráficos.
