Level of knowledge and practice on taking electrocardiogram of nurses in the emergency service of a national hospital Lima, 2023

Abstract

Cardiovascular pathologies are the main cause of death in the world, and as part of the health team, nurses are in charge of taking and interpreting electrocardiograms to detect cardiovascular disorders or diseases in time. The objective of the study is: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge. The objective of the study is: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice on taking electrocardiograms of nurses in a national hospital in Lima in the year 2023. Method: The hypothetical deductive method, quantitative, non-experimental, correlational and cross-sectional approach will be applied. The population and sample will be60 licensed nurses working in the emergency unit of a national hospital in Lima. The survey technique was used for the study and the following instruments will be used to measure the variables: Questionnaire of knowledge in the interpretation of the electrocardiogram and the observation guide of practicesin the use of the electrocardiogram. The results will be processedthrough SPSS version 26 and the results will be shown in tables and corresponding figures. Likewise, Spearman's Rho statistical test will be used to measure the correlation between the variables.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento y práctica sobre la toma de electrocardiograma de las enfermeras de un hospital nacional de Lima en el año 2023. Método: Se aplicará el método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental, correlacional y transversal. La población y muestra a la vez será de 60 licenciadas de enfermería que laboran en la unidad de emergencia en un hospital nacional de Lima. Para el estudio se utilizará la técnica de encuesta y para medir las variables se utilizarán los siguientes instrumentos: Cuestionario de conocimiento en la interpretación del electrocardiograma y la guía de observación de prácticas en el uso del electrocardiograma. Los resultados serán procesados a través del SPSS versión 20.0 y se mostrarán en tablas y figuras correspondientes. Asimismo, para medir la correlación entre las variables se empleará la prueba estadística Rho de Spearman
