Work stress and quality of nursing care in the emergency service of the Ate Vitarte 2024 public hospital

Abstract

Introduction: Occupational stress is an issue that affects the performance of nursing staff, which significantly influences the quality of patient care in the emergency service of the public hospital in Ate Vitarte. Objective: To determine the relationship between occupational stress and the quality of nursing care in the emergency service. Methodology: A hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative and correlational approach will be used for the research, with a cross-sectional design. The population consists of 43 nurses and 132 patients attended in the emergency service of the public hospital in Ate Vitarte. Survey techniques will be used, with instruments including a questionnaire on occupational stress, which consists of 24 items with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.961, and for nursing care quality, which consists of 26 items with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.997.

Introducción: El estrés laboral es una problemática que afecta el desempeño del personal de enfermería, motivo por el cual influye significativamente en la calidad del cuidado de los pacientes en el servicio de emergencia del hospital público de Ate Vitarte. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el estrés laboral y la calidad del cuidado enfermero en el servicio de emergencia. Metodología: Para la investigación se usará un método hipotético-deductivo con enfoque cuantitativo y correlacional de corte transversal, con una población de 43 enfermeros y 132 pacientes atendidos en el servicio de emergencia del hospital público Ate Vitarte, se usan las técnicas de encuesta con los instrumentos de cuestionario sobre estrés laboral, consta de 24 ítems con un Alfa de Cronbach de 0,961 y para la calidad del cuidado enfermero, consta de 26 ítems con un Alfa de Cronbach de 0,997.
