Family environment and coping with stress in cancer patients in the emergency service of the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases of the Center, Concepción, 2023

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the family environment and stress coping mechanisms in oncology patients. Methods: This is a deductive-hypothetical study with a non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive, applied, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The sample will consist of 100 users receiving care at the Emergency Service of the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases. The instruments include the Family Environment Scale (FES), which measures interpersonal relationships, and the Stress Coping Questionnaire for Oncology Patients (CAEPO), which measures stress coping mechanisms. Both instruments are validated and exhibit a high reliability level (Cronbach's alpha = 0.91). Data collection will take approximately 45 minutes per participant. Data analysis and interpretation will involve tables and graphs, and the Spearman test will be used to test the hypothesis, with a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. The results will be expressed in a contingency table of the variables under consideration.

Esta investigación tiene como Objetivo: Determinar la relación existe entre el entorno familiar y el afrontamiento al estrés en pacientes oncológicos. La metodología: metodo hipotético deductivo, diseño no experimental, de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, aplicada, correlacional, de corte transversal; la muestra estará constituida por 100 usuarios que reciban atención en el servicio de Emergencia del Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas, los instrumentos que se usarán para el trabajo de investigación serán Escala de clima social familiar (FES) que medirá la relaciones entre dos personas y el cuestionario de afrontamiento al estrés para pacientes oncológicos (CAEPO) para medir el Afrontamiento al Estrés, los cuales ya están validados; ambos instrumentos tienen un alto nivel de confiabilidad (de 0.91 en el alfa de Cronbach) estadística, para la recolección de datos se considerará un tiempo de 45 minutos, en cada participante, para el análisis e interpretación se usarán tablas, gráficos. Así mismo, para contrastar de la hipótesis, se empleará cómo estimación estadística la Prueba de Spearman, con nivel de confianza del 95%, error del 5%, el cual se expresará en la tabla de contingencia de las variables consideradas.
