Critical review: effect of physical exercise on glycosylated hemoglobin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Diabetes is one of the biggest health emergencies of the 21st century and one of the four non-communicable diseases (NCDs) selected by world leaders to intervene as a priority. This research seeks to understand the scientific literature on the effect of physical exercise on glycosylated hemoglobin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The type of research is secondary. The methodology according to Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) is used. The 5 phases of the NuBE will be described and used for the development of critical reading. A synthesis of the literature found is described and the selected scientific literature is evaluated through the “Critical Appraisal Skills Program Spain” (CASPe). According to the chosen article, combined exercise showed a more pronounced improvement in HbA1c than supervised aerobic exercise or exercise. of resistance supervised alone. The prescription of physical exercise is recommended for the treatment and/or prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus so that, together with medication and dietary intervention, adequate glycemic control can be achieved and thus avoid or delay the complications that this disease entails.

El siguiente trabajo de investigación secundaria denominado como revisión crítica: Suplementación de vitamina D y sus análogos en la reducción del hiperparatiroidismo secundario presentados en pacientes con ERC, tiene como fin determinar si el tratamiento con dosis de vitamina D y sus análogos reduce el hiperparatiroidismo secundario (HPTS). La interrogante clínica planteada fue: ¿La Suplementación de vitamina D (ergocalciferol, colecalciferol y análogos) reducirá el hiperparatiroidismo secundario de Hombres y Mujeres mayores de 18 años que padecen de hiperparatiroidismo secundario con ERC? Se tomó como referencia la metodología Nutrición Basada en Evidencia (NuBE). Se recopilaron diversas fuentes de información en Pubmed, Scielo, encontrándose 29 artículos, siendo seleccionados 15 cuyo análisis fue realizada por la herramienta para lectura crítica CASPE, encontrándose seleccionado el ECA doble ciego titulado como Dosis altas de colecalciferol alivian la progresión del hiperparatiroidismo en pacientes con ERC en estadios 3 y 4: resultado de un estudio controlado, aleatorizado, doble ciego de 12 semanas, encontrándose un nivel de evidencia B I con un grado de recomendación fuerte, de acuerdo a la evaluación del investigador.
