Severity of the disease of the patients and workload of the nursing staff in the intensive care unit in the high complexity hospital - 2021

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship that exists between the severity of the patients' illness with the workload of the nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit in a High Complexity Hospital -2021. Methods: The study is hypothetical deductive, with a quantitative approach, of a basic research type, of a non-experimental, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional design. The validated instruments will be applied: the APACHE II Scale and the Therapeutic Intervention Rating System (TISS-28), to 30 nurses who work in the Intensive Care Unit in the High Complexity Hospital. Conclusions: In this research project, it will contribute to the knowledge about the relationship between the severity of the patient's illness and the workload that exists in nurses in the intensive care unit, since it has been little investigated at the national level. The results of the study will help develop better strategies for the organization and distribution of nursing staff, thereby ensuring that patients receive complete, humanized, quality care and reducing the workload of nursing staff, always taking into account the attitudes and actions of the nurse.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre la gravedad de la enfermedad de los pacientes con la carga laboral del personal de enfermería en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos en un Hospital de alta Complejidad -2021. Métodos: El estudio es hipotético deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo de investigación básica, de diseño no experimental, descriptivo, correlacional, de corte transversal. Se aplicará los instrumentos validados: la Escala de APACHE II y el Sistema de Calificación de la Intervención Terapéutica (TISS-28), a 30 enfermeras que laboran en la Unidad de Cuidados intensivos en el Hospital de Alta complejidad. Conclusiones: en este proyecto de investigación, contribuirá al conocimiento sobre la relación entre la gravedad de la enfermedad del paciente y la carga de laboral que existe en las enfermeras en la unidad de cuidados intensivos, ya que ha sido poco investigada a nivel nacional. Con los resultados del estudio, se podrá contribuir a la elaboración de mejores estrategias para la organización y distribución del personal de enfermería, logrando de esta manera que el paciente reciba una atención de calidad completa y humanizada, y disminuyendo, asimismo, la carga de trabajo del personal de enfermería, tomando siempre en cuenta las actitudes y acciones de la enfermera(o).
