Effectiveness in the prevention of neoplasia with the administration of the human papillomavirus vaccine in men

Abstract

Objective: to systematize the evidence on the effectiveness in preventing neoplasia with the administration of the Human Papillomavirus vaccine in men. Methodology: it is a Systematic Review where it synthesizes some results from various investigations. Likewise, it is an essential part of Evidence-Based Nursing, therefore the search has been restricted to scientific articles with high quality of evidence and with an appropriate strength of recommendation. Results: in the exhaustive selection, at the end, 10 scientific articles were chosen, among which we found systematic reviews, randomized controlled clinical trials and case-control studies where of the total articles collected, 100% affirm that the application of the vaccine against HPV in men is effective in preventing neoplasia and other infections. Conclusions: it was evident that the included investigations show a high degree of immunological effectiveness, therefore, when HPV vaccines are administered it results in prevention of the development of genital warts, pre-cancerous lesions, and most importantly, adequate prevention. of HPV infection, in this sense all of this contributes to a possible decrease in various types of neoplasms related to men.

Objetivo: sistematizar la evidencia sobre la efectividad en la prevención de neoplasias con la administración de la vacuna contra el Virus del Papiloma Humano en varones. Metodología: es una Revisión Sistemática en donde sintetiza algunos resultados de diversas investigaciones. Asimismo, forma parte esencial de la Enfermería Basada en la Evidencia, por lo consiguiente la búsqueda se ha restringido a artículos científicos de alta calidad de evidencia y con una idónea fuerza de recomendación. Resultados: en la selección exhaustiva al final se eligieron 10 artículos científicos, entre las cuales encontramos revisiones sistemáticas, ensayos clínicos controlados aleatorizados y estudio de casos y controles en donde del total de artículos recopilados el 100% afirma que la aplicación de la vacuna contra el VPH en varones es efectiva en la prevención de neoplasias y otras infecciones. Conclusiones: se evidenció que las investigaciones incluidas evidencian un alto grado de efectividad inmunológica, por lo tanto, cuando se administra las vacunas contra el VPH se traduce en prevención del desarrollo de verrugas genitales, lesiones pre-cancerosas, y lo más importante la idónea prevención de la infección por VPH, en tal sentido todo aquello contribuye a una posible disminución de diversos tipos de neoplasias relacionadas a los varones.
