Knowledge and self‐care practicesin the prevention of diabetic foot in a hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

The objective of the present investigation is "To determine how the level of knowledge is related to self-care practices in the prevention of diabetic foot in a hospital in Lima, 2023". Methods: the study will be hypothetical deductive, and the hypotheses will be subjected to a contrast test to reach the conclusions. The focus of the investigation will be quantitative and will be of an applied type with a non-experimental design of a descriptive correlational scope and a cross-sectional temporal cut since the variables will not be manipulated. The research work in its theoretical framework has 5 international precedents, and 5 national precedents of which 80% (8 precedents) conclude that the 2 variables are related to each other and 20% (2 precedents) conclude that the 2 variables are independent. The research sample is made up of 70 patients who are users of a hospital in Lima 2023 whose condition is that they must be diabetic. For the measurement of the variables, 3 dimensions were considered, such as diet, physical activity and self-care of the feet. To measure the variables, 1 survey was used as a technique for each variable, as well as the instrument was a questionnaire for each variable, which have a reliability of 0.728 (alpha Cronbach) and 0.80 (alpha Cronbach) respectively. Results: a Microsoft Excel will be processed, to analyze the data the chi-square test will be applied, and the Kendall correlation coefficient to establish the relationship between the 2 study variables.

El presente trabajo busca “Determinar cómo el nivel de conocimiento se relaciona con las prácticas de autocuidado en la prevención de pie diabético en un hospital de Lima 2023”. El estudio será hipotético deductivo y las hipótesis serán sometidas a una prueba de contrastación para arribar a las conclusiones. La muestra de la investigación está conformada por 70 pacientes usuarios de un hospital de lima en el año 2023, cuya condición es que deben ser diabéticos. Para la medición de las variables se consideraron 3 dimensiones, las cuales son la alimentación, actividad física y autocuidado de los pies. Para medir las variables se utilizó como técnica una encuesta para cada variable y el instrumento fue un cuestionario para cada variable, los cuales cuentan con una confiabilidad de 0.728 (alfa Cronbach) y 0.80 (alfa Cronbach) respectivamente. Los resultados se procesarán en Microsoft Excel, para analizar los datos se aplicará la prueba de chi cuadrado, y el coeficiente de correlación de kendall para establecer la relación entre las 2 variables de estudio
