Knowledge and practices of biosafety in nurses of the emergency department of the María Auxiliadora Hospital, Lima - 2022

Abstract

The objective of the research is “To determine how knowledge is related to biosafety practices in nurses in the emergency service of the María Auxiliadora Hospital, Lima – 2022.” The census sample population is made up of 65 nursing professionals from the emergency service. The methodological design is of the applied type, the method used is hypothetical, deductive, observational, descriptive and transversal. Likewise, the scope is correlational. To evaluate the variable knowledge about biosafety measures, the questionnaire modified by Acevedo in 2020 will be applied, reliable through Cronbach's Alpha 0.88, and for the variable biosafety practices, the checklist to measure practices on biosafety measures, modified by Vivanco in 2019, obtaining a 0.804 Cronbach's Alpha. Data collection will be through the survey. The data analysis will be carried out through statistical description, which will show the results and through Spearman's Rho test the hypothesis raised in the research will be verified.

El objetivo de la investigación es “Determinar cómo los conocimientos se relacionan con las prácticas de bioseguridad en enfermeros del servicio de emergencia del Hospital María Auxiliadora, Lima – 2022”. La población muestra censal está compuesta de 65 profesionales de enfermería del servicio de emergencia. El diseño metodológico es de tipo aplicada, el método usado hipotético deductivo, observacional, descriptivo y transversal. Así mismo el alcance es correlacional. Para evaluar la variable conocimientos sobre medidas de bioseguridad se aplicará el cuestionario modificado por Acevedo en el 2020, confiable mediante Alpha de Cronbach 0,88 y para la variable prácticas sobre bioseguridad, la lista de verificación para medir las prácticas sobre medidas de bioseguridad, modificado por Vivanco en el 2019, obteniendo un 0,804 de Alfa de Cronbach. La recolección de datos será por medio de la encuesta. El análisis de datos se realizará a través de la descripción estadística, que mostrará los resultados y mediante la prueba de Rho de Spearman se comprobará la hipótesis planteada en la investigación.
