Knowledge and practice on measures of biosecurity in the cure of venous catheter central for nursing professionals - Unit of Intensive Care of a level II hospital in Lima – 2022

Abstract

The title of this research is the knowledge and practice that the nursing professional has regarding biosafety measures in the process of healing the central venous catheter in the intensive care unit, all with the purpose of reducing the risk of infections of the bloodstream for this, the nursing professional has to obtain or have knowledge to act in the care and management of the central device. The general objective is to describe the relationship that exists between the level of knowledge and practice on biosafety measures in the treatment of central venous catheter by the nursing professional of the ICU of a Level II Hospital. The utilized method is deductive hypothetic, quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental design, correlational level and cross-sectional. The present study will be carried out in a level II national hospital in Lima in the intensive care unit. The population is made up of 50 nursing professionals who work in the healthcare part and who agree to participate in said study. The survey as a technique and questionnaire as a instrument will be used to measure knowledge and practice on biosafety measures in the treatment of central venous catheter.

El presente trabajo de investigación posee por título el conocimiento y la práctica que posee el profesional de enfermería respecto a las medidas de bioseguridad en el proceso de la curación de catéter venoso central en la unidad de cuidados intensivos todo ello con la finalidad de reducir riesgo de infecciones del torrente sanguíneo; para ello el profesional de enfermería tiene que obtener o poseer conocimientos para actuar en el cuidado y manejo del dispositivo central. El objetivo general es determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento y práctica sobre medidas de bioseguridad en la curación de catéter venoso central por el profesional de enfermería de la UCI de un Hospital nivel II. El método a usar es hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicado, diseño no experimental y nivel correlacional de corte transversal. El presente estudio se realizará en la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital nacional de nivel II de Lima. La población está conformada por 50 profesionales de enfermería que laboran en la parte asistencial y aceptan participar en dicho estudio. Se usará como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento el cuestionario que medirán el conocimiento y la práctica sobre medidas de bioseguridad en la curación de catéter venoso central.
