dc.description.abstractCancer patients who receive chemotherapy manifest various secondary nutritional effects that contribute to the deterioration of their nutritional status. The present research titled as a critical review: Effect of oral nutritional supplementation in patients receiving chemotherapy aimed to identify the possible effects of nutritional supplementation in patients undergoing chemotherapy. The clinical question was: What is the effect of oral nutritional supplementation in patients receiving chemotherapy? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The investigation and selection of information was carried out from the Google Scholar search engines and databases such as Science Direct, Pubmed, HINARI, Scielo, Dialnet, and 42 articles were found, selecting 12 that have been evaluated by the instrument for critical reading. CASPE, finally choosing “Systematic review and meta-analysis of the evidence of oral nutritional intervention on nutritional and clinical outcomes during chemotherapy (radiotherapy): current evidence and guidance for the design of future trials, which It has a Level of evidence: AII, Grade of recommendation: Strong, as evaluated by the researcher. The critical comment allowed us to conclude that said meta-analysis suggests a general effect that could be found on body weight after nutritional interventions, with oral supplementation during chemo and/or radiotherapy, in addition to providing a benefit with respect to the metabolic alterations that we could found in cancer patients.en_US
dc.description.abstractSe realizó búsqueda de información en las bases de datos PubMed y Science Direct , encontrando 54 artículos, siendo seleccionados 12, los cuales han sido evaluados por la herramienta para lectura crítica CASPE, finalmente el artículo seleccionado permitió concluir que es posible que el consumo diario de más de 10 mg de isoflavonas presentes en la soya reduzca el riesgo de cáncer de mama en mujeres entre 30-79 años sin antecedentes de cáncer de mama.es_ES
