Nursing knowledge about the care of patients with invasive mechanical ventilation and its relationship with the presence of adverse events in an ICU of a hospital in Lima – 2021

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of the nursing professional about the care of patients with invasive mechanical ventilation and the presence of adverse events in the ICU service of a hospital in Lima - 2022. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The present study will be carried out quantitative approach, non-experimental if correlational, cross-sectional and hypothetical – Deductive design. The population will be made up of 80 Nursing professionals from the ICU service of the Lima hospital who will work with all the staff; in the same way with patients who have presented any adverse event. The previously validated instruments are questionnaire-type forms. The instrument that will be used is known as the “Questionnaire on Basic Domains on Mechanical Ventilation”. This instrument is comprised of 3 dimensions: Direct care of the adult patient 13 items, Equipment management 6 items, Complications during the use of the ventilator 1 items, indicators respectively finally obtaining 20 items. Whose final value of the knowledge level variable is: Very low, low, Regular, High. While the second instrument that will be used to measure the presence of adverse events is known as the “Adverse Events Form.” Such instrument will be composed of 30 Items. Where the final value will be if it presents EA (1) it does not present EA (0).

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento del profesional de enfermería sobre el cuidado de pacientes con ventilación mecánica invasiva y la presencia eventos adversos en el servicio de Uci de un hospital de Lima – 2022. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: El presente estudio se realizará de enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental si correlacional, de corte transversal e hipotético – Deductivo. La población estará conformada por 80 profesionales de Enfermería del servicio de UCI del hospital de Lima las cuales se trabajarán con todo el personal; de la misma forma con los pacientes que hayan presentado algún evento adverso. Los instrumentos validados previamente son unos formularios tipo cuestionario. El instrumento que se usara se le conoce “Cuestionario Sobre Dominios Básicos Sobre Ventilación Mecánica”. Dicho instrumento está comprendido por 3 dimensiones: Cuidado directo del paciente adulto13 ítems, Manejo de equipo 6 ítems, Complicaciones durante el uso del ventilador 1 ítems, indicadores respectivamente obteniendo finalmente 20 ítems. Cuyo valor final de la variable nivel de conocimiento es: Muy bajo, bajo, Regular, Alto. Mientras que el segundo instrumento que se usara para medir la presencia de eventos adversos se le conoce como “Ficha de eventos adversos”. Tal instrumento estará compuesto de 30 Ítems. Donde el valor final será si presenta EA(1) no presenta EA (0).
