Caregiver overload and upper limb function in patients with infantil cerebral palsy in a private center, Cusco - 2023

Abstract

The general objective of this study is to determine the relationship between caregiver burden and upper extremity function in patients with cerebral palsy in a private center. This study uses the hypothetico-deductive method with a quantitative, non-experimental, correlational design to determine the relationship between the two variables: caregiver burden and upper extremity function, with a cross-sectional design, as data collection occurs at a single point in time. Statistical data for this research will be obtained from the Zarit Test (Zarit et al., 1980) and the Manual Ability Classification System (MACS) for children with cerebral palsy (Macias, 2010), adapted for this study.

El objetivo general del estudio será determinar la relación entre sobrecarga del cuidador y la función de la extremidad superior en pacientes con parálisis cerebral infantil de un centro privado. Este estudio utiliza el método hipotético deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo de diseño no experimental, subdiseño correlacional para determinar la relación existente de dos variables: sobrecarga del cuidado y la función de la extremidad superior; de corte transversal porque la recolección de datos se realiza en un solo momento. Los datos estadísticos que sostendrán esta investigación se obtendrán del Test de Zarit propuesto por Zarit et al. 1980, y por el Sistema de Clasificación de la Habilidad Manual para niños con Parálisis cerebral (MACS) propuesto Macias, 2010 y adaptado para esta investigación.
