Knowledge and practice of hand washing of the nursing staff of the surgical center of a clinic in Lima, 2022

Abstract

It is known through various investigations that hands are the main agent of contagion of infections and even more so in hospital areas. Diseases caused by contagion can be avoided by correctly applying the hand washing technique. Therefore, we present this research project which will be based on a hypothetical deductive methodology with an observational quantitative approach and a correlational descriptive design. The population under study is made up of XX nursing professionals who work in a clinic in Lima in the surgical area and the entire population will be considered as a sample (Census). The instruments to obtain the research data will be two valid questionnaires. and reliable ones called “Questionnaire to measure the knowledge variable of hand washing” and “Questionnaire to measure the practical variable of hand washing”.

Se conoce mediante varias investigaciones que las manos son el agente principal de contagio de infecciones y más aún en las áreas hospitalarias. Las enfermedades causadas por contagio pueden evitarse mediante la correcta aplicación de la técnica del lavado de manos. Por tanto presentamos este proyecto de investigación el cual se basará en una metodología hipotética deductiva con enfoque cuantitativo de tipo observacional y de diseño descriptivo correlacional. La población en estudio está conformada por XX profesionales de enfermería que laboran en una clínica de Lima en el área quirúrgica y como muestra se considerará a la totalidad de la población (Censo) Los instrumentos para la obtención de los datos de investigación serán dos cuestionarios válidos y confiables denominados “Cuestionario para medir la variable conocimiento de lavado de manos” y “Cuestionario para medir la variable práctica del lavado de manos”.
