Quality of life and adaptation to hemodialysis treatment, at the Daniel Alcides Carrión Clinical Surgical Teaching Regional Hospital - Huancayo - 2021

Abstract

Background: According to international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), currently, one in every 10 people worldwide is affected by some form of kidney disease. In Latin America, an average of 613 patients per million of the population has had access to some form of renal replacement therapy. In response to this reality, measures are being taken to improve access to renal health, with the goal of reaching 700 patients per million in each PAHO member country. (1). General objective: To determine the relationship between quality of life and adaptation to hemodialysis treatment in patients at the Daniel Alcides Carrión Clinical Surgical Regional Teaching Hospital in Huancayo, 2021. Methodology: This study will be a basic research of descriptive correlational design. The population consists of patients from the renal unit, specifically 60 patients from the hemodialysis unit of the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital in Huancayo. The study will be conducted during October and November of 2021. The research technique used will be a survey to assess lifestyle using the "KDQOLFM36" questionnaire, and to measure adaptation to treatment, the "Adult Patients’ Adaptation to Hemodialysis Treatment" questionnaire will be used—both instruments validated in previous studies. The procedure will be carried out using Excel and SPSS software, and non-parametric statistical analysis will be applied using the Chi-square significance test for the interpretation of the information.

Antecedentes: De acuerdo a las entidades internacionales como la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) y Organización Panamericana de Salud (OPS). En la actualidad uno de cada 10 personas en el mundo está afectado por alguna enfermedad renal y en Latinoamérica, un promedio de 613 pacientes por millón de la población que tuvo acceso a alguna forma de terapia de reemplazo renal, ante esta realidad, se están tomando medidas con el fin de tener una mayor accesibilidad a la salud renal teniendo como meta de llegar a 700 pacientes por millón en cada país miembro de la OPS. (1). Objetivo general: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de calidad de vida y la adaptación al tratamiento de hemodiálisis, en el Hospital Regional Docente Clínico Quirúrgico Daniel Alcides Carrión - Huancayo – 2021 Metodología: El presente estudio será una investigación Básica de diseño descriptivo correlacional, la población son los pacientes de la unidad renal que está conformada por 60 pacientes de la unidad de hemodiálisis del Hospital Daniel Alcides Carrión - Huancayo, el cual se ejecutará en los meses de octubre y noviembre del 2021, la técnica de investigación utilizada será la encuesta para valorar los estilos de vida a partir del cuestionario “KDQOL-FM36” y para medir la adaptación al tratamiento el cuestionario de “Adaptación de Pacientes Adultos al Tratamiento de Hemodiálisis”; instrumentos validados en otras investigaciones. El procedimiento se realizará en los programas de Excel, SPSS, para análisis e interpretación de la información se empleará la estadística no paramétrica de la significancia del Chi-Cuadrado.
