Prevalence of risky sexual behaviors in technical nursing students at the Daniel Alcides Carrion Higher Institute, April 2019

Abstract

Objective: Determine the prevalent sexual risk behaviors in technical nursing students at the Daniel Alcides Carrión Higher Institute, April 2019 according to the CSR scale. Methodology: Quantitative approach study, applied type with descriptive cross-sectional, prospective design in 207 technical nursing students from the Daniel Alcides Carrión Higher Institute, April - 2019. The survey was used through the questionnaire validated by Burns & Grove, on risky sexual behaviors in technical nursing students, with 7 items that estimate whether or not the student presents a prevalence of risky sexual behaviors. Results: Of the total, it was determined that 65.7% of the Technical Nursing students at the Daniel Alcides Carrión Institute reported medium and high risk sexual behaviors, with a predominance of Medium Risk Behaviors (44.9%). Only 34.3% of those surveyed report low-risk sexual behaviors. Age group with the highest prevalence of CSR was the group from 26 to 30 years old with 86.5% having (Medium and High Risk), followed by the age group from 21-25 years with 66.7% having (Medium and High Risk). High Risk) and in the group of 15-20 years, 57.9% refer (Medium and High Risk) so it can be stated that the older the age, the greater the percentage of risky sexual behaviors Conclusions: A moderate prevalence of risky sexual behaviors was determined in technical nursing students at the Daniel Alcides Carrión Higher Institute, April – 2019.

Objetivo: Determinar las conductas sexuales de riesgo prevalentes en los estudiantes de enfermería técnica del instituto superior Daniel Alcides Carrión, Abril 2019 según la escala de CSR. Metodología: Estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada con diseño descriptivo de corte transversal, prospectivo en 207 estudiantes de enfermería técnica del instituto superior Daniel Alcides Carrión, Abril– 2019. Se utilizó la encuesta a través del cuestionario validado por Burns & Grove, sobre conductas sexuales de riesgo en estudiantes de enfermería técnica, de 7 ítems que estiman si el estudiante presenta prevalencia o no de conductas sexuales de riesgo. Resultados: Del total se determinó que el 65.7 % de los estudiantes de Enfermería Técnica del Instituto Daniel Alcides Carrión refieren conductas sexuales de mediano y alto riesgo, con predominancia de Conductas de Mediano riesgo (44.9 %). Solo el 34.3 % de los encuestados refieren conductas sexuales de bajo riesgo. Grupo etario con más prevalencia de CSR fue el grupo de 26 a 30 años el 86,5 % presenta (Mediano y Alto Riesgo), seguido por el grupo de la edad de 21-25 años con el 66,7% tiene (Mediano y Alto Riesgo) y en el grupo de 15-20 años el 57,9% refiere (Mediano y Alto Riesgo) por lo que se puede afirmar que a mayor edad mayor porcentaje de conductas sexuales de riesgo Conclusiones: Se determinó una moderada prevalencia de conductas sexuales de riesgo en estudiantes de enfermería técnica de instituto superior Daniel Alcides Carrión, abril – 2019.
