Knowledge and practice of the nursing professional in taking an electrocardiogram in the intensive care unit in a clinic in Lima, 2023

Abstract

The research will raise the objective of "Determining how the knowledge of ECG is related to the practice of the nursing professional in the intensive care unit of a private clinic in Lima, 2023", for the indicated purpose the hypothetical deductive method of study will be considered and a quantitative approach, as well as a non-experimental, correlational and cross-sectional design; there will be 50 nurses who, by means of a non-probabilistic sampling, will make up the sample; the techniques to collect data will be the survey and observation; The instruments that will be applied will correspond to a 12-question questionnaire for the first variable to assess the level of ECG knowledge and the second instrument, an observation guide of 24 statements to assess how the professional applies said knowledge to take the ECG record. ; both instruments belong to the researcher Verónica Rojas who adapted them in 2022; the instruments have content validity through expert judgment and have an Aiken V index of 0.80; They also presented 0.860 and 0.671 as a reliability index by KR-20, thereby evidencing that the two instruments are suitable for application in the chosen participants. With the results obtained, it will be intended to respond to the objectives set.

Objetivo: “Determinar como el conocimiento de ECG se relaciona con la práctica del profesional de enfermería en la unidad de cuidados intensivos de una clínica privada de Lima, 2023”, para la indicada finalidad se contemplará como método de estudio el hipotético deductivo y enfoque cuantitativo, así como un diseño no experimental, correlacional y transversal; serán 50 enfermeros (as) quienes por un medio de un muestreo no probabilistico conformarán la muestra; las técnicas para recolectar datos serán la encuesta y la observación; los instrumentos que se aplicarán corresponderán para la primera variable a un cuestionario de 12 preguntas para valorar el nivel de conocimientos de ECG y el segundo instrumento una guía de observación de 24 enunciados para valorar como el profesional aplica dichos conocimientos para la toma del registro de ECG; ambos instrumentos pertenecen a la investigadora Verónica Rojas quien los adaptó en el 2022; los instrumentos cuentan con validez de contenido a través de Juicio de expertos y tienen un índice de V de Aiken de 0,80; asimismo presentaron como índice de fiabilidad por KR- 20 de 0,860 y 0,671, evidenciando con ello que los dos instrumentos están aptos para su aplicación en los participantes elegidos.
