Attitude towards research in nursing students of a private university in lima-2019.

Abstract

Objective: Objective: To determine the level of attitude towards research in nursing students from the internship at a private university in Lima-2019. Material and method: The study method was descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional, applied to 100 nursing students from the hospital and community internship. Students who were enrolled in nursing internships were included, who voluntarily agreed to participate in the project with informed consent and who were present during data collection. The technique used was a survey, using the Scale of Attitudes Toward Research questionnaire, developed by Aldana de Becerra and modified by Chocca. This instrument has 43 items and 3 dimensions (affective, cognitive and behavioral). Results: 100 nursing students were included. 50% were from hospital internships, whose average age was 28.7±5.2 years, close to the average age (29.8±6.1) of community internship students. 70% of the nursing internship students were in the age range of 20 to 30 years; 25% were in the 31 to 40 age group. For both groups, more than 75% of students had a favorable attitude toward research, while only 6% reported an unfavorable attitude. Conclusion: There is a high level of favorable attitude towards research in nursing students from the internship at a private university in Lima-2019.

Objetivo: Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de actitud frente a la investigación en estudiantes de enfermería del internado en una universidad privada de Lima-2019. Material y método: El método de estudio fue descriptivo, prospectivo de corte trasversal, aplicado en 100 estudiantes de enfermería del internado hospitalario y comunitario. Se incluyeron estudiantes que estuvieron cursando el internado de enfermería, que hayan aceptado voluntariamente participar del proyecto, con consentimiento informado y que estuvieron presentes durante la recolección de datos. la técnica utilizada fue la encuesta, a través del cuestionario Escala de Actitudes Hacia la Investigación, desarrollado por Aldana de Becerra y modificado por Chocca. Este instrumento tiene 43 ítems y 3 dimensiones (afectiva, cognitiva y conductual). Resultados: Se incluyeron 100 estudiantes de enfermería. El 50% correspondía al internado hospitalario, cuyo promedio de edad fue de 28.7±5.2 años, cercano al promedio de edad (29.8±6.1) de los estudiantes de internado comunitario. El 70% de los estudiantes de internado de enfermería estuvieron en el rango etario de 20 a 30 años; el 25%, en el grupo de 31 a 40 años. Para ambos grupos, más del 75% de estudiantes tuvieron actitud favorable para la investigación, mientras que solo el 6% reportó una actitud desfavorable. Conclusión: Existe un alto nivel de actitud favorable frente a la investigación en estudiantes de enfermería del internado en una universidad privada de Lima-2019.
