Level of knowledge in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation practices among nursing staff in the emergency department of a hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practices of Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in the nursing professional of the Emergency service of a Hospital in Lima, 2023. The study had a quantitative, correlational, observational, applied cross-sectional approach, since analyzes the relationship between two variables and the effect of one on the other. The survey was applied as an instrument, applied to 80 nurses who work in the emergency service. To measure the variable level of knowledge, the instrument adapted by Reyes in 2021 was used, likewise to measure the practical variable of pulmonary cardo resuscitation, the instrument was taken and modified by Córdoba. The data were analyzed using the SPSS version 25 statistical program. Speaman's Rho statistic was used to test the planned hypotheses. A significant relationship (p<0.02) was found between the level of knowledge and the chest compressions dimension with the practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation with a moderate level of association.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y las prácticas de Reanimación Cardiopulmonar Avanzada en el profesional de enfermería del servicio de Emergencia de un Hospital de Lima, 2023”. El estudio tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo correlacional, observacional, transeccional y aplicada, ya que analiza la correlación entre dos fenómenos relevantes y actuales. Como instrumento se aplicó la encuesta, aplicada a 130 enfermeros que trabajan en el área de emergencia. Para calcular la variable nivel de conocimiento se usó la herramienta adaptada por Reyes en el año 2021; así mismo, para calcular la variable practica de reanimación cardio pulmonar el instrumento a usar será el adaptado y validado por Córdoba. Los datos serán examinados usando el SPSS versión25. Se utilizará el estadístico Rho de Spearman para probar las hipótesis planeadas.
