Knowledge and attitudes about palliative care of the nursing professional who works in the intensive care unit of an Essalud Hospital, Callao, 2021

Abstract

The objective of the study is: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of palliative care and the attitudes of nurses. Methodology: The study has a quantitative descriptive approach because it involves the collection and analysis of variables. It is a correlational, cross-sectional design because no manipulation of the variables will be performed. The sample will consist of a total of 30 nursing professionals from the intensive care unit, who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research will use the "Questionnaire on the knowledge of palliative care by healthcare personnel" with 30 items, and a Likert-type scale with 14 questions to measure attitudes will be used as an instrument. The principles of bioethics for research involving human subjects will be respected, and the anonymity of the participants will be maintained. Subsequently, data will be collected and organized in Excel using tables that facilitate the grouping of information in detail to show frequencies and percentages.

El objetivo del estudio es: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento de cuidados paliativos y las actitudes de las enfermeras. Metodología: El estudio tiene un enfoque cuantitativo descriptivo porque utiliza la recolección y análisis de variables. Diseño correlacional, transversal porque no se realizará ninguna manipulación de la variable. La muestra constará de un total de 30 profesionales de enfermería de la unidad de cuidados intensivos, que cumplirán los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. La investigación utilizará el “Cuestionario sobre el conocimiento de los cuidados paliativos por parte del personal sanitario“ con 30 ítems. y una escala tipo Lickert con 14 preguntas para medir actitudes será utilizada como un instrumento. Se respetarán los principios de la bioética para la investigación en seres humanos y se mantuvo el anonimato de los participantes. Posteriormente, se recopilarán y organizarán en Excel a través de tablas que faciliten agrupar la información de forma detallada para mostrar frecuencias y porcentajes.
