Stress level and job satisfaction of nursing staff in the surgical center during the pandemic at a Level III Hospital in Lima, 2021

Abstract

The emergence of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has affected the psychological and mental health of health workers, due to multiple factors including the risk of infection and high contagion numbers. The health sector has been affected due to the stress caused by the current situation; This condition, like dissatisfaction related to work, is associated with the emotional burden, long working hours and poor equipment available. Objective: Determine the relationship between the level of stress and job satisfaction of the nursing staff of the surgical center service, in times of pandemic in a III hospital in Lima. Material and methods: The method to be used is hypothetical deductive with a quantitative approach and the study will be correlational. The population will consist of thirty nurses who work in the surgical center of a III hospital in Lima. To measure the level of stress, The Nursing Stress Scale with adequate validity and a Crombadge Alpha reliability of 0.97 will be used. The instruments are given in person with prior informed consent, a correlational statistical analysis will be carried out.

La aparición de la enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19) ha afectado la salud psicológica y mental de los trabajadores de salud, debido a múltiples factores entre ellos el riesgo a la infección y las elevadas cifras de contagio. El sector salud se ha visto afectado debido al estrés originado por la actual situación; este padecimiento al igual que la insatisfacción relacionado con el trabajo se asocia con la carga emocional, las extensas jornadas laborales y los deficientes equipos con los que se dispone. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de estrés y la satisfacción laboral del personal de enfermería del servicio de centro quirúrgico, en tiempos de pandemia en un hospital III de Lima. Material y métodos: El método a emplear es hipotético deductivo con enfoque cuantitativo y el estudio será correlacional. La población estará constituida por treinta enfermeras que trabajan en centro quirúrgico de un hospital III de Lima. Para medir el nivel de estrés se utilizará The Nursing Stress Scale de validez adecuada y una confiabilidad de 0,97 de Alfa de Crombadge. Los instrumentos se dan de manera presencial previo consentimiento informado, se realizará un análisis estadístico correlacional.
