Relationship between the level of work stress and musculoskeletal disorders in the health personnel of the surgical center in the maternal perinatal institute of Lima 2020

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of occupational stress and the appearance of musculoskeletal disorders in healthcare personnel in the Surgical Center of the Maternal and Perinatal Institute, Lima 2020.

Materials and methods: The study was of a descriptive, quantitative, and correlational type. The total population consisted of 80 healthcare professionals from the Surgical Center of the Maternal and Perinatal Institute in Lima.

Instruments: To measure the first variable, the International Labour Organization (ILO)/World Health Organization (WHO) Occupational Stress Scale will be used. This scale includes dimensions such as organizational climate, organizational structure, organizational territory, new technologies, leader influence, lack of cohesion, and group support, with 25 items on a Likert scale from 1 to 7, where 1 means never and 7 means always. Occupational stress levels can be categorized as low, moderate, and high.

For the second variable, the Nordic Questionnaire (NMQ) by Kuorinka (1987) will be used. It has 4 dimensions: Sensitivity, Location, Time, and Intensity. It consists of 13 questions, of which 2 are to be completed and 11 are to be marked.

Objetivo: determinar la relación del nivel de estrés laboral y la aparición de trastornos musculo esqueléticos en el Personal de Salud de Centro Quirúrgico de Instituto Materno Perinatal, Lima 2020 Materiales y métodos: Fue de tipo descriptivo cuantitativo, correlacional. la población total estuvo conformada por 80 profesionales de salud de centro quirúrgico del Instituto Materno Perinatal de Lima. Instrumentos: Para la medición de la primera variable, se usará la Escala de Estrés Laboral de la OIT/OMS el cual tiene como dimensiones: el clima organizacional, estructura organizacional, territorio organizacional, nuevas tecnológicas, influencia del líder, falta de cohesión y respaldo de grupo, con 25 ítems y escala de Likert de 1 a 7, en donde 1 es nunca y 7 es siempre. Los niveles de estrés laboral se pueden categorizar como bajo, intermedio, estrés y alto. en cuanto a la segunda variable se usará el cuestionario Nórdico de Kuorinka (NMQ) publicada en 1987 con 4 dimensiones: Sensitiva, Localización, Tiempo e Intensidad, Consta de 13 preguntas de las cuales 2 son para completar y 11 son para marcar.
